Snort is a fantastic free, open-source network intrusion detection system and sniffer. One of Snort's best features is its ability to run on many, many different platforms. According to the Snort documentation, Snort supports the following types of systems:
- Linux, OpenBSD, FreeBSD, NetBSD, Solaris, SunOS, HP-UX, AIX, IRIX, Tru64, MacOS X Server, Win32 (Win9x/NT/2000).
